I want to thank everyone for using and loving our ru™ Journals! To the author: try carrying one around for a year and see how well it ages! It's pretty amazing.

I just want everyone to know that there will be a new color palette shipping in October so check out our web-site. And if you can't find a store in your area that carries these, please call and we can accommodate!

Thanks for your loyal support. Oh, and the paper really is Latex infused AND made in America!

i have used the red, aka "berry," one for the past year. I was looking online to buy a new one and came across this entry. :)

I like it a lot! It is SO sturdy. After one year of not-treating-with-care, it looks pretty much the SAME as when I first bought it. I love the size (mine's 4 by 5.75), the elastic, pocket at the end, thickness of paper, and i dont even mind the dimpled cover. :)

Different priorities, I think. I just started writing in one and I love it. It fits nicely in the back pocket and isn't as cramped as the moleskine (which is just a little bit too small for me). I love the paper too, and your honest review helped me choose this notebook!

I'm not sure about the lined pages thing yet - I have tried both & lines are nice for journaling, but blank is great for scribbling software design ideas & doodling. I can get used to either...

I did the same thing as Annie and tried to find a source for just the paper that they use. Exquisite for pen and ink doodling/cartooning!!! I just love that paper. I wish they had a full size art pad. I actually picked one of these out just because they looked so cool. I don't understand the authors dislike of them. Better paper, opens nicer and half the price of a moleskine. Done

You dont give this thing enough justice. i love it.

i carried my xonex around with me every day for over a year in and out of my bag all the time. it took plenty of abuse and held up extremely well. i like the blank pages and most of all the quality of the paper.

A wonderful substitute to a Moleskien in my opinion.

The ru journal actually became my cost effective Moleskine substitute. It is almost half the price, the size isn't so bad, and it's far more durable than you give it credit for. The blank pages may be your minus, but they are my plus.

Also, the pages don't bleed and the ink dries quicker on a ru journal page than Moleskine. It's not a bad alternative for me.

My focus is on the paper, so much is too thin and soft for me, and it's soooo hard to find unlined--so I'm ordering! Thanks so much for the pointer.

Speaking as one of those people who love the ru for art, I have to say that the larger size is perfect for that reason. And what you say about the quality of paper is true - I love it so much that I tried to find out who makes the paper (with little success) with the intent of using it to make larger artworks. I've drawn in mine with all kinds of pens, watercolors, pencils, markers and even done inkjet transfers in it! The way the paper accepts a variety of media is fantastic. And the cover is pretty durable - its survived all kinds of indignities I've forced upon it, and at the most, it's just starting to look a little dirty. I've been a regular moleskine user, but the last notebook I got made me realize that at 3 times the price it really is inferior, and I've made the switch.
